A professional engineering discipline that brings together broad scientific disciplines in the green power such as chemistry, biology, geology, microbiology, hydrology, ecology and mathematics to create solutions that protect and improve the health of living organisms while also improving the quality of the environment. The design and application of green energy models of the environment are known as environmental modeling. Environmental modeling may be used for pure study and a better understanding of environmental systems, or it can be utilized to provide an interdisciplinary analysis that can help with decision-making and policy.
